Winter vacation in schools: Waking up early morning to catch the school bus can be difficult for students, especially in the winter. It’s even more difficult during the Christmas season when children look forward to the festivities. In view of the fall in temperature, winter holidays will begin soon in schools in many states. This year, Christmas falls on a Sunday, and along with this, schools will be closed roughly for 10 to 15 days for winter vacation.

Punjab school winter vacation

Winter vacations in Punjab state will be in two phases — educational institutions in upper Punjab will be shut from January 3 to January 13, 2023. And the institutions in central and southern Punjab will be closed from December 23, 2022, to January 6, 2023.

West Bengal school winter vacation

The West Bengal government has declared a school holiday from December 26, 2022, according to which a state holiday has been declared on December 26, which is the day after Christmas.

Rajasthan school winter vacation

The Rajasthan government has announced that schools will remain shut for 12 days during this winter season. Winter holidays will begin from December 25 and end on January 5, 2023.

Jammu and Kashmir school winter vacation

The Jammu and Kashmir administration has declared a three-month winter vacation for schools as the region receives heavy snowfall during this time period. In J&K, classes from nursery to class 5 were shut on December 1, and classes for students of class 6 to 8 culminated on December 12.

Uttar Pradesh school winter vacation

Schools in Uttar Pradesh will have winter vacations from December 31 to January 15, 2023. Primary and upper primary schools will operate from 9 am to 3 pm in the winter session.
